E-Learning | Modalities – SEP, EMG, MEP

IONM BASICS

This course introduces the core modalities used in intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM): Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SEP), Electromyography (EMG), and Motor Evoked Potentials (MEP). It covers the fundamental principles, electrode placement, signal pathways, standard device settings, and signal interpretation associated with each modality, highlighting their importance for effective monitoring during surgical procedures.

The course is designed for healthcare professionals who want to deepen their understanding of how the different IONM modalities are applied in clinical practice. Participants gain practical insights into modality-specific terminology, signal characteristics, physiological pathways, and normative values. Through structured learning modules and clinically relevant examples, the course helps build confidence in distinguishing between SEP, EMG, and MEP recordings and understanding their respective applications.
