IONM IN THYROID SURGERY

Thyroid gland surgery is generally considered a minor procedure. However, the proximity to the laryngeal recurrens nerve and the parathyroid glands adjacent to the thyroid are the particular challenge of modern thyroid surgery. Thus, a simple training operation can quickly turn into a demanding operation that requires the most precise anatomical knowledge and the greatest care. Even the surprising finding of a thyroid carcinoma requires in certain situations an extension of the operation with central and possibly lateral lymph node dissection. The hospitation is aimed at experienced surgeons in endocrine surgery, but also at young colleagues who wish to enter the field of thyroid surgery. The internship is also aimed at anaesthetists and medical-technical staff. Flyer
